DROID DESIGNER Orion Circuiter is riding high. His team is among those chosen to supervise the fleet of androids for the grand opening of the orbiting amusement park The Solar Eclipse. He even got to meet movie star Crystal Fawn and she actually seems interested in him. But once aboard, Orion finds himself dodging swarms of reporters as he tries to rendezvous with Crystal, fighting paralyzing PTSD from a family trauma, and struggling to escape from the prison of his own mind in “The Psyche” ride in time to save the world’s beloved leader from an assassination plot at the hands of one of Orion’s own androids.

SIERRA ALVAREZ is the trusted leader of Orion's team of droid designers, but she and her three teammates come onto the Solar Eclipse as equals, asked to police the androids they helped design. Sierra is assigned to the Bohemian Café, where she debates with philosopher Socrates Salvatore whether the droids are individuals and deserve to be granted civil rights. While he courts her, she does such a bad job of hiding her thing for Orion that Socrates comes to view him as a rival. It doesn't help that Orion is hiding similar feelings toward her.

MAYA & DEREK: Free-spirited Maya and slightly nerdy Derek are work buddies who like to flirt. Derek has it bad for Maya, but has to pretend he embraces her casual philosophy about love.

Raised by ex-hippies, Maya is assigned to the Humanity ride which enables guests to travel to any place and time in history. Maya hated history in school but--go figure--she loves the ride. Maya has great people skills, but has trouble balancing her job responsibilities with her desire to have a good time.

TEAM J4: Orion, Sierra, Maya & Derek

Though he was the kid who got picked on and always got picked last, Derek is assigned to the Sport ride, where a droid’s pitch adjusts to his wild swing and he hits his first home run ever.
